If you plan to hit Cancun this summer there's what you need to know! Tips and hotspots you must do while in Mexico.

 

Cancun is a popular vacation destination but why not broaden your horizon. Don't stick to the local touristy things to do. Branch out and experience tons of epic adventures just a car ride away. Here we have great alternatives to try while in Cancun, that you surely won't regret!


 


MUSA

Underwater Museum features beautiful sculptures that are 30 feet in the ocean. The Museum does require swimming. Options are diving or snorkeling but for experienced swimmers.

Chichen Itza

This historic Mayan site is one of the 7 New Wonders of the World. The civilization was abandoned so it's a mystery as to who build the temple. Immerse yourself in the culture and learn about the ancient ruins.


To catch a glimpse you can head over to Trip Advisor where you can get packages that include the entrance fees plus the tax, along with transportation and more goodies. You can always take the drive yourself if you rent a car but from Cancun, it's about a 2 hours drive.

 

Catamaran

What better way to explore the seas than in a Catamaran. These boats are popular in Cancun as it fits lots of people for a good time on the water.


A day at sea will wash away your worries. Rentals may include food and drinks on board. You can choose to rent this out with friends as a all day excursion to explore. There are also tours that include a Caribbean Island day so don't forget to pack your sunscreen!


 

Cenotes

These water holes called "Cenotes" (sea-note-es) are unlike anything you could imagine. Mexico is filled with tons of them. There are so many different places you can choose from all over Mexico.


The Centoes is a popular thing to do in Mexico and is definitely a must-try when your here. Think of a cave with a waterfall with beautiful that you can jump on in and enjoy the refreshingly cool water.


 

Tulum

The city of Tulum is only a 2 and a half hour drive from Cancun and it's definitely a must-visit. Even if it's just for a day. It's filled with wooden architecture and tons of cute hotels to pass up.


The Azulik Hotel along with Ahau Hotel and plenty of Insta worthy places are here for the ultimate photo dump. You can hop from place to place to experience the best beaches. Bars in the hotels are mostly free to enter. So come have a drink and enjoy the day exploring and relaxing by the beach or walk the street for beautiful views at every turn.
